In the land of Khour, where the sun shines bright,
There lies a garden, a paradise of delight nestled in the mountains,
to explore, its stories to be told.
Khour
For ages, the land of the sun, or “Khour”, has been the place of striving to withstand the scorching sun. The inhabitants of this plateau have always been concerned with establishing a fundamental for their lives, and their struggle against the environment is a testament to their awareness. It’s a wonder what inspires their reverence for this place that they name it after the sun; the same sun serving as the greatest restraining force for their existence.
From another view, the qualitative experience of light that shines upon the Iranian plateau is the foundation of spatial understanding that has always rested in the collective unconscious; while leaving a trail of its presence in the sparks of flame as a symbol, light shapes beliefs, religions, and society’s bind, from ancient times to today.
Thus, the architecture of this area serves to deflect the excessive heat, yet embrace the light as one; as a delicate boundary between heat and light: where controlling heat fosters a realm for human life and, on the other hand, light is welcomed to spark imagination in our experienced world!
Persian Garden
The notion of a Persian garden is like a carpet in the frame of a paradise, and mankind is the center of attention, riding on a royal throne like a king who rules over it.
His place is no house, no villa, but rather a mansion in the garden of paradise overlooking all eight directions, through which his presence can be definitely recognized in the center.
And two other directions remain the earth and the sky;
What goes within the heart of the earth, they know, for their feet and bodies can feel its flow.
And what is above, they see in a blue-mirror-like surface of the water reflecting the sky into a pond within his heart and carpeting the throne with dreams from afar. So, nothing else outside the garden of paradise is left to seek, for it’s a paradise beyond imagination.
