Joma (The Green-Hued Room)
Within that house, a secret lies veiled—
Joma, the keeper of its mystery.
A house, nestled within a sheath, enfolded by a larger home,
With a stair like a pulpit, a low door,
As though Khidr himself rests there in silence.
Joma is the tale of its master—
When he wills it, he vanishes within,
Unseen, unknown, as if swallowed by the house.
No door is opened, no path revealed.
Only one green-hued door,
Sealed with a heavy lock, weighted by time’s long shadow,
While the master lingers inside.
This is the secret of the house:
That when he wills it, he is both within and beyond,
Without the door of Joma ever yielding.
The tree is no mere tree but a living witness.
Joma rests in the emerald embrace of two trees,
Suspended between earth and sky,
In a space where life’s verdure has dried.
The mulberry tree,
A symbol of his tether to the beloved, his earthly companion,
Its roots diving deep into the soil of this fleeting world.
And the apricot tree,
A silent reminder of a grandfather, a minstrel lost to time,
Its branches stretching toward the heavens,
Toward a love that transcends.
